Kanaan Guest Farm — Hazyview
The wide Lowveld view from above Kanaan — rolling green bush, banana and macadamia orchards in the valley and hazy blue hills running to the horizon.
The Land

A whole world of wonder, right at our doorstep.

Kruger before breakfast, the escarpment by lunch, and the fire lit by dark. Everything worth seeing in the Lowveld is a day trip from the farm gate.

Days out from the farm

Three directions, three completely different days.

Leave after coffee, be back for a swim. None of these need an early night before or a long drive home after.

The wider farm

More than the lodge.

Kanaan sits on agricultural ground that runs out into bushveld long after the lodge ends. We are slowly bringing that land back into use — macadamia trees planted in rows, hiking and cycling routes opening up again.

Walk far enough and the rows give way to a rocky outcrop, a waterfall, and a view that runs all the way to the escarpment. Most guests never expect the farm to be this big.

In time, a quieter eco-camp on the further property.

A shady hilltop lookout on the trails above Kanaan — a fire grate on the rocks and the green Lowveld hills rolling away under a soft sky.
The Kanaan Guest Farm signboard at the front gate — black ironwork, the Hazyview lettering, a flame tree in flower behind it.
Water sliding over smooth rock shelves on the high ground above Kanaan, the orchards and hills of the Lowveld opening out beyond in clear morning light.
The macadamia grove on Kanaan — rows of newly-planted young trees stretching toward the Lowveld escarpment.
Sunset through the forty-year-old mango grove at Kanaan, the sun dropping behind the Lowveld hills.
